FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an Imprint deck a journal?

Imprint decks are often searched for as a journal, but they are designed with a different intention. Journals are meant to be returned to over time. Imprint decks are meant to be completed in one sitting—while the moment is still present. You don’t keep up with it. You finish with a complete, handwritten record before the details slip away.

How is this different from a memory journal or memory book?

Memory journals and books are typically open-ended and ongoing. Imprint decks are finite. Each deck guides you through a specific moment with intentional prompts, meant to be written once—while the details are still clear.

Do I have to keep using the deck over time?

No. A deck is not meant to be revisited, updated, or maintained. The entire deck is designed to be completed in a single focused sitting. When you’re done, you’re done.

What kinds of moments are Imprint decks for?

Imprint decks are designed for meaningful life moments—such as welcoming a new baby, weddings, parenthood, Mother’s Day, Father's Day, graduations, and other major transitions. Each deck is specific to a moment, not a phase you have to keep up with.

How long does it take to complete a deck?

Most people complete an Imprint deck in 30–45 minutes. The prompts are structured to keep you moving forward, without overthinking or editing.

What if I don’t know what to write?

You don’t need to plan or prepare. The prompts are written to guide you forward, one card at a time. You simply respond and move on—there’s no right way to do it, and nothing to figure out in advance.

Is this meant to be a keepsake or a gift?

Imprint decks are often given as gifts, but their value isn’t in how they look—it’s in what they preserve. Each deck is meant to be completed, creating a finished record in your own handwriting that can be returned to years later, long after the moment itself has passed.

Can this replace a journal?

Imprint decks are not meant to replace journaling. They for the moments you don’t want to put off writing about. Instead of an ongoing journal you plan to keep up with, Imprint decks help you capture a moment in one sitting—before it fades.
